SYSTAT 12

Why Upgrade?

Reasons to upgrade from version 11.2 to 12.

More Statistics, More Graphs, Less Effort

Considerably extend the scope of Linear Models and Regression

  • With features on linear mixed models, such as variance components analysis, hierarchical mixed models analysis, and mixed regression, you can now analyse dependent and heteroscedastic data sets such as repeated measures, growth curves, and longitudinal data.
  • With Partial Least-Squares regression you can analyse data with a large number of predictor and response variables.
  • With the addition of Least Trimmed Squares (LTS) and Scaled (S) to the Robust Regression suite of LAD, LMS, M, and Rank, you can now deal with problematic data such as those with outliers, multicollinearity, nonnormality, etc.
  • Thus considerably extend the scope of Linear Models, Regression, Analysis of Variance and General Linear Models.

Optimise one or more responses in terms of input factors

  • Using data from a well-designed experiment, fit a second-degree polynomial to a response on several factors.
  • Find the values of the factors that optimise response.
  • Find factor values to optimise a combination of several responses.
  • Obtain contour and desirability plots to display a factor-response relationship.
  • If optimal setting is not within the experimental range, find the direction to move using ridge anlaysis.

Find clusters, validate them, and prune your cluster tree

  • With the addition of new linkage methods such as uniform and kernel, flexible beta, and weighted linkage, and a K-medians algorithm, you now have a wide choice of distance and similarity functions and clustering methods.
  • You can now validate the clusters formed by one of five validity indices.
  • You can tidy up your cluster tree by cutting it based on leaf nodes and tree heights.

Strengthen your statistical analysis with many new features

  • In cross-tabulation, use standardised tables to study the association of two factors correcting for the third.
  • In multiway frequency tables, find the right kind of association measure for your type of data from the innumerable measures available.
  • With Time Series carry out Trend Analysis using Mann-Kendall test and Sen’s slope estimate.
  • Compute, random sample, fit and model with 44 probability distributions of which 11 are new.
  • Choose the right kind of multiple comparison test from a large battery.
  • Compute multivariate skewness and kurtosis and carry out a multinormality test for your data before using classical multivariate methods.
  • While using ANOVA, carry out assumptions check, compute the right type of sum of squares and test standard contrasts with ease.
  • While fitting models, look at Information criteria (Akaike, Akaike corrected, Bayes) to compare models.
  • Use results of ready-made Bootstrap Analysis for Descriptive Statistics, Regression, and ANOVA.

Customise even more SYSTAT’s unmatched Graphics

  • Change multiple aspects of your graphics using the single integrated dialog.
  • Using the interactive graphics, compare subgroups, overlay charts, transform coordinates, add geographic projections, change colors, symbols, and more, to create insightful presentations.
  • Change graph locations, point-and-click to alter axis labels, scales, colors and symbols.
  • Present visually useful and attractive summary of large data using hexagonal binning.

Add power and cut down effort with new data manipulation features

  • Use the Trim feature to exclude extreme values of a specified proportion in specified direction(s).
  • Smarten your data file with additional information such as file information, variable information, variable labels, value labels, processing conditions, etc.
  • Save effort using undo and redo in the Data Editor up to 32 steps in the same session.
  • Increase data accuracy with widened data field of (23, 15).
  • Name your variables, including string variables, using up to 256 characters.
  • Obtain basic variable statistics and histogram from the Variable Properties dialog.

Simplify your work with new, attractive, customisable interface

  • Instantly access recent multiple data sets, command scripts, and output, as also pdf files of manuals from informative Start page.
  • Access from Startpage a menu of your choice from a few alternative theme menus.
  • Use the Quick access menu which clicks for the most commonly used features, and save time.
  • Customise menus and toolbars to suit your work and style.
  • Speed up your work using the streamlined and intuitive command language.
  • Use a combination of interlinked command and dialog as convenient.
  • Enjoy the convenience of the auto complete facility for file names, variable names, and main command names.
  • Import and export files in other formats with ease.
  • Savor the smart output view and stunning publication-quality output---html or classic.
