Hearne Scientific Software, the Crystal Ball distributor for Australian and New Zealand, and Decisioneering, the developer of Crystal Ball, will be managing the following events in May and June 2006 in Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane and Perth.
Tuesday May 9, CeBit, Sydney CBD: Hearne and Decisioneering will be presenting Crystal Ball version 7.2 Risk Analysis Software during the CeBit conference. To attend this Crystal Ball presentation you need to register with Hearne Scientific Software beforehand. Attending CeBit and/or the Crystal Ball presentation is free of charge.

Wednesday May 31, Sydney CBD: Hearne and Decisioneering will lead a free seminar on using Crystal Ball in a Six Sigma context. This seminar will include a light breakfast, presentations from Australian Crystal Ball users and will be led by Dave Hammal from Decisioneering. Dave Hammal is a Six Sigma Black Belt who joined Decisioneering in September 2005, having previously worked for Ford Motor Company. While at Ford, he used the DMAIC process to make data driven decisions during the launch of new car models throughout Europe. Software Commercialisation
Hearne Scientific Software continues to commercialise Australian research software applications. The following programs are now available from Hearne Scientific Software. These have been developed by researchers and programmers from CSIRO, ANSTO, CRCs, Universities and Hearne Scientific Software;
IREX - (Intelligent Risk Exchange) a web based risk management program for organisations working on large scale projects spread across multiple sites with multiple work groups.
AQUARISK - an Ecological Risk Assessment Program (ERA). Ecological Risk Assessment applied with the Precautionary Principle, is the most appropriate means to evaluate the risk posed by any environmental hazard to the organisms living within the receiving environment.
Energy Express enables you to comply with the energy efficient commercial building design rules in the new 2006 Building Code of Australia.
AccuRate enables you to comply with the energy efficient residential building design rules in the new 2006 Building Code of Australia. AccuRate is the long awaited update for NatHERS and is the standard against which all new Australian residential building energy simulators are judged and verified.
Software Awards
CLIMEX and DYMEX - At the Annual Asia Pacific ICT Awards Hearne Scientific Software and CSIRO Entomology received a merit award for CLIMEX and DYMEX. The Asia Pacific ICT Awards are an annual competition for the most innovative ICT organisations from 15 countries spread across the Asia Pacific region. Entry to the Asia Pacific ICT Awards for 2005 was restricted to the 2005 winners from each member country's own ICT awards.
At the Australian Information Industry Association Awards in 2005 Hearne Scientific Software and CSIRO Entomology won 2 awards (Agriculture and Primary Industries, Community) for CLIMEX and DYMEX.
Mathcad - The readers of Desktop Engineering Magazine have selected Mathcad 13 as the 2005 Readers' Choice Product of the Year, choosing the world's most widely used calculation software from a field of 12 candidates and hundreds of products covered every year.

Enviro The Enviro Conference & Exhibition is a platform for showcasing the Australian environment industry. To be held in the Melbourne Exhibition and Convention centre from Tuesday May 9 to Thursday May 11, 2006. The City of Melbourne is also hosting the Mayors Asia Pacific Environmental Summit at the same time in the same venue as Enviro 06. Hearne Scientific Software will be at booth c083.

Six Sigma Summit Hearne Scientific Software and Decisioneering, the developer of Crystal Ball, will be demonstrating the Crystal Ball range of risk analysis software tools at the IQPC 9th Annual Australian Six Sigma Summit. The focus of this summit is sustaining performance and driving business growth through six sigma leadership. The summit is at the Wentworth Sofitel Hotel, Sydney CBD, May 29-30.
