Introduction
SIMUL8 Standard is an integrated environment for working with simulation models. The powerful language and model visualization capabilities enable you to create the accurate, flexible and robust simulations you need in less time.
SIMUL8 is different from many other process simulation packages because its design is based on careful research. The way you use SIMUL8 is not based on programming or statistical data, but on drawing your organization on the screen, and only filling in numerical information where you need it. You can still use SIMUL8 for traditional hard number crunching simulation. SIMUL8 combines the graphical ease of Windows with the computational power of simulation.
With its two-way interface with Visual Basic, SIMUL8 can both be very easy to use and unlimited in its flexibility and power. Because SIMUL8 links to Visual Basic and because Visual Basic is a full programming environment, SIMUL8 can be extended using the same tools you would use if you were to add macros to Microsoft Excel. Most SIMUL8 users will not need the additional power of Visual Basic, but for those that do, SIMUL8 makes it easy to develop the most powerful simulations with the addition of VB.
Visual Logic, SIMUL8's simulation language, lets you build detailed logic into your simulation to describe exactly how you want it to behave. It’s much more intuitive, flexible and faster than the link to VBA provided in previous versions of SIMUL8 (although this link still works if previously built models use it).
