Learn to use GraphPad Prism and see what's new.

With four years development GraphPad Prism 4.0 balances new-and-improved with comfortably familiar.
GraphPad Prism is a powerful combination of basic biostatistics, curve fitting and scientific graphing in one comprehensive program. Because it helps you organize, analyze and graph repeated experiments; pick appropriate statistical tests; and interpret the results, Prism is ideally suited to data plotting and analysis applications in the life sciences.
New Features
Global curve fitting - GraphPad Prism 4 allows you to fit two or more data sets at once, sharing one or more parameters between data sets. Global curve fitting gives you more precise results from many kinds of experiments with less work.
New graph types - GraphPad Prism 4 offers more graph types, including before and after plots, area fill plots, horizontal column graphs, and graphs with X error bars. GraphPad Prism 4 also lets you customise your graphs down to the last detail – angle your axis numbering; specify tick lengths; choose colors for symbol borders, symbol fill, and error bars independently; and much more.
New tools to organise your work - The new Info section lets you record experimental details such as experiment or lot number, or enter numerical constants (such as concentration) that can be used in analyses. Rename your data table, and Prism will automatically rename all linked analyses, graphs and layouts to match.
Easier to get started - Both new and experienced Prism users will appreciate the more convenient new Welcome dialog. Start your project by choosing the kind of graph you want to make, and Prism automatically creates the appropriate kind of data table and links it to a graph. GraphPad Prism 4 also comes with a comprehensive new Step-by-Step Examples book that walks you through 20 common analyses and graphs. You'll be an expert in no time.
New Text book - If you have questions about curve fitting, turn to the new book, Fitting Models to Biological Data Using Linear and Nonlinear Regression (view pdf online). Written for scientists, not mathematicians, this new book offers practical curve-fitting advice for biologists. Nonlinear regression is a very important analysis for most life scientists.
Increased size limits - GraphPad Prism 4 lifts every size limit, letting you have more replicates per data set (up to 52), more data sets per table (104), and more data sets per graph. The number of rows per data table and sheets per project is now limited only by the size of your hard drive.
Learn to use GraphPad Prism
These mini-movies can give you an overview of GraphPad Prism, or quickly show you how to perform certain tasks. You don't need to read anything or download any software — just sit back, watch and listen to how GraphPad Prism works.
Overview - This short presentation is a good starting point for learning about GraphPad Prism. Sit back and watch how Prism is organized and what it can do. Learn how to get started, how to enter data to build an XY graph, and how to fit a basic curve. This also shows you how to add titles to your graph, how to copy and paste text from your analysis results to your graph, and how to export your graph to PowerPoint.
Column dot-plot with ANOVA - Watch how to create a scatter plot and perform one-way ANOVA with a Tukey post test.
Survival curves and analysis - GraphPad Prism makes it simple to create survival curves. Watch and listen to the steps to perform a Kaplan-Meier survival analysis.
Basic column graphs - GraphPad Prism gives you many tools for creating graphs of data organised by one grouping variable. These include bar graphs, column scatter plots and box-and-whiskers plots. Watch how to make a column graph, how to reformat the graph to change the arrangement, order, and spacing of the bars, and how to add or modify your error bars.
Importing data into GraphPad Prism - This presentation demonstrates how versatile GraphPad Prism is at importing raw data from a variety of sources. We explain how to transpose columns into rows, set ranges of data you'd like to import, skip blank lines, and snake long strings of data points into rows and columns. This also shows how to utilize the power of Microsoft's Object Linking and Embedding (OLE) to embed or link GraphPad Prism graphs and analyses to your spreadsheets.
Customising graphs and layouts - GraphPad Prism lets you customise virtually every feature of your graphs. Watch how to define and apply color schemes, offset and split axes, plot data against a second Y axis, and insert Greek letters and math symbols into your axis titles. This presentation also demonstrates how to combine multiple graphs into layouts for publication.
Using Info Sheet entries as constants in equations and transforms - Watch how to use numbers entered into GraphPad Prism Info sheets as constants when writing custom equations or transforms. By changing the value of these constants, you can quickly and easily update multiple graphs and analyses simultaneously.
