GraphPad Prism 5.0

Licensing

Multi-user network licenses and individual single-user licenses are available.

Network license

The network version is a concurrent-use license. The software is installed once on a shared network drive that acts as a server. Each user launches the program and runs it locally. Anyone on the network may access the program, but no more than the number specified by the license can use it at the same time. The advantage of a network license is that a large number of users can share a relatively small concurrent-use license. The main disadvantage is that users may have to wait until others are finished working before they can use the software. Also, with a network license, the software can’t be used while traveling or at home.

The network licenses for Windows and Macintosh versions of Prism are distinct, so you must tell us how many licenses you wish for each program for each platform. The minimum network license is for two users per platform. When you want to upgrade your software, you will need to upgrade the entire network license at the same time.

Single user licenses

If you prefer the flexibility of installing Prism on individual computers, purchase a single user licenses. If used by only one person, each single-user license can be installed on two computers, one at work and one at home. (Both must be either Windows or Macintosh computers.) In a lab or office where a computer is shared by many people, a single user license can only be installed on one computer. The key advantage to single user licenses is that each person has his/her own license and can use it at work, at home, or while traveling. Because you must purchase a separate license for each person, this option can be more expensive than a shared network license.
