Australian software distributor Hearne Scientific Software has just expanded its services to New Zealand, opening a new software distribution office in Auckland. This will offer a wide range of programs to the New Zealand market, including mathematical, statistical, graphing, chemistry, simulation, risk management and Fortran programming.
"Over the years we have sold software into New Zealand, but it has been difficult to provide a full backup service from Australia," said Dr James Hearne, General Manager of Hearne Scientific Software Pty Ltd.
Hearne will now provide local technical support, seminars, demonstrations, training and consulting.
Dr Hearne sees the decision to set up in New Zealand as a long term strategic decision. He anticipates acceleration in the growth of science and engineering graduates in New Zealand, fuelling the market for specialised programs to assist them in their professions.
