Hearne is successful in its latest R&D Grant Application

25 March, 2003

Hearne Scientific Software secures an AusIndustry Grant to develop an energy consumption and greenhouse gas emission simulator for commercial and residential buildings.

In the latest round of grant approvals from AusIndustry Hearne Scientfic Software has been successful in its application to develop an energy calculator for commercial and residential buildings. The project, which will be developed with the aid of CSIRO, will have significant potential both in Australia and overseas.

The software development is planned to calculate energy consumption, and costs based on utility tarifs and building geometry, construction and usage. The software will also calculate greenhouse gas emission levels and allow engineers to calculate peak heating and cooling loads for air-conditioning unit size.

The program will allow engineers and architects to quickly input all the relevant data related to energy consumption, generate accurate findings on the level of energy usage and greenhouse gas emmissions in order to design more efficient buildings.

Hearne Scientific looks forward to delivering this product in its commercial form soon and welcomes any early expressions of interest.
