Licensing Details
Single-User Standalone Licensing
A single user license for DYMEX provides individuals or companies the right to install the software onto a single PC for a single designated person to use.
The standalone edition requires the registered user to register their machine ID in order to receive a license activation code. The machine ID is a unique identifier that is built from a machine’s specific hardware information, but contains no personal identifiable information.
Users with current maintenance receive patches and updates, upgrades to future versions, technical support*, a home-use license and license transfer help. The home-use license is licensed exclusively to the registered user of the primary installation. Maintenance contracts are for a 12 month term and can be renewed annually.
The license to use the DYMEX software is for an indefinite period. Technical aspects of the installation process limit its use to the PC on which it was initially installed. Hearne Scientific Software is under no obligation to provide users without maintenance the right to transfer licenses or issue additional activation codes.
A license with current maintenance is entitled to 1 initial installation and then 1 re-installation per year. If a person leaves and the company would like to re-assign a license to a new person this is allowed. There is a limit of one re-assignment or one re-installation per license per year. Additional installation requests are considered on a case by case bases.
Node-Locked Network Licensing
Node-locked licenses allow for DYMEX to be installed on a computer network. The number of PC terminals DYMEX can be installed and activated on is equal to the number of licensed nodes. For example, a 3 user node-locked network license allows DYMEX to be activated on 3 specified client PC's (nodes) on a network.
The license coordinator for a network license needs to register each PC's machine ID in order to receive their license activation codes. The machine ID is a unique identifier that is built from a machine’s specific hardware information, but contains no personal identifiable information.
Network Licenses with current maintenance receive patches and updates, upgrades to future versions, technical support*, a home-use license and license transfer help. Maintenance contracts are for a 12 month term and can be renewed annually. Technical support* is provided to the single designated license coordinator. Home-use licenses are available up to the number of node-locked licenses within your installation. The home-use licenses are for use by staff and/or contractors who are users of the node-locked network licenses.

Classroom Teaching License
The Classroom Teaching License is for a single designated computer laboratory and is licensed exclusively for teaching purposes only. Academic licenses are required by universities for non-teaching work such as research.
A Classroom Teaching Licenses with current maintenance receive patches and updates, upgrades to future versions, technical support* and license transfer help. Maintenance contracts are for a 12 month term and can be renewed annually. Technical support* is provided to the single designated license coordinator.

*Technical support refers to providing support for the operation of the licensed software. Technical support does not extend to general problem solving, modeling issues, training, teaching, consulting or other similar services.
