Decisioneering releases the 2000.5 upgrade to its popular Crystal Ball Standard, Professional, and Premium Editions
Decisioneering, Inc. has announced the release of the latest upgrade to its award-winning Crystal Ball risk analysis, forecasting, and optimization product. Crystal Ball is a Microsoft® Excel-based application that uses Monte Carlo simulation to quantify uncertainties in spreadsheet models.
The upgrade, Crystal Ball 2000.5 (version 5.5), incorporates a number of enhancements that will boost the capabilities of the product and simplify its use, including:
- Verified compatibility with Microsoft Office 2003
- Easier to manage enterprise deployments with more flexible licensing
- Thirty updated example models, including nine new example models for applications that include Six Sigma, Design for Six Sigma, financial valuation, and Oil & Gas exploration
- An improved and more intuitive optimization toolbar and wizard
- Improved calculation engine for quicker and more accurate optimizations
- Better algorithms for more accurate time-series forecasting methods, confidence intervals, and autocorrelations
- Updated Developer Kit for Crystal Ball and CB Predictor
Crystal Ball 2000.5 features an entirely new licensing method driven by Macrovision Corporation's FLEXlm™ software. The new licensing method simplifies the activation of different features and products when users upgrade or purchase new products or use a network version. The new licensing method is particularly useful for corporate customers who need to monitor licenses, install on a network, and upgrade some or all product licenses.
