VTune Performance Analyzer is a robust, enterprise-grade solution, even with large executables (100MB+) that other products are unable to profile. It analyzes applications on all sizes of systems based on Intel processors, from embedded systems through supercomputers.
What's New for Intel VTune Performance Analyzer 8.0 for Linux:
Finding your bottleneck is easier than ever. Get a list of the five most time-consuming functions with just one simple dialog box. Click on a function name to display the source and show the code that is taking up the most processor time.
Support for Linux 2.6 kernels and MontaVista Linux Carrier Grade Edition. Installation has been greatly simplified; automatically download drivers for new kernels. VTune analyzer supports Linux 2.6 kernels and MontaVista Linux Carrier Grade Edition for embedded developers.
Support for multiple users and up to 4096 processors. Large-system support is even better with the addition of multi-user Call Graph and per-CPU Sampling buffering.
- Multi-user Call Graph allows several users to share a large resource for concurrent performance testing.
- Buffering on a per-CPU basis ensures that sampling is accurate on systems with up to 4096 processors.
Authentication for remote sessions. Users without appropriate access rights will not be allowed to access or profile the remote system.
Read-only file-system support. Performance tuning in a secure environment just became a whole lot easier. Call Graph can now analyze secure systems with read-only file systems.
Easier to use. The VTune environment's display layouts have been improved based upon user feedback. Finding the right information is now faster and easier than ever.
Easier to learn. A new "Getting Started" document helps users become productive quickly, with a short "hands-on" tour of VTune analyzer's three major analysis flows.
