Bionix Development Corp. won the 2005 Medical Design Excellence Award for The Lighted Ear Curette, which was designed using TracePro, Lambda Research Corporation's optical simulation software used in design and analysis of products based on optical technologies. <award press release>

The Lighted Ear Curette is an excellent example of an innovative product resulting from a joint effort between the New Product Development team at Bionix and a consultant from Lambda Research.

Entries are evaluated on the basis of generated innovation, enhanced benefits to patients and the ability of a product development team to overcome design and engineering challenges. The 2005 MDEA winners will be honored at a ceremony during the Medical Design & Manufacturing MD&M) East Conference and Exposition at New York City's Jacob K. Javits Convention Center on June 14, 2005.
