Australian Release of Mathcad 2000 Premium

Hearne Scientific Software announces the immediate availability in Australia of Mathcad 2000 Premium - the fully comprehensive member of the Mathcad family of mathematics-based design solutions.

The Mathcad 2000 Premium suite provides an integrated desktop environment to speed technical design, documentation and communication using the latest in maths, engineering and Internet technologies. The core application is Mathcad 2000 Professional, recently awarded an Analysts' Choice award by PC Week and honoured with a listing on winmag.com's exclusive WinList. This engine is enhanced by inclusion of the Mathcad 2000 Treasury and a solving and optimisation extensions pack. To complete the suite add Axum 6.0, a technical graphing package for spectacular 2-D and 3-D visualisation, and SmartSketch 3.0, the latest in intelligent 2-D parametric drawing and design tools from Intergraph Corp.

The intrinsic connectivity of Mathcad 2000 Premium makes the suite as a whole much greater than the sum of its component applications. "Mathcad 2000 Premium edition provides a seamless connection between the worlds of engineering math and CAD modelling," said Jack Conaway, senior analyst at IDC. "The bi-directional associativity between visually represented calculations and CAD models provides a productive and unified environment for design engineers throughout the product development or project lifecycle." In other words, use SmartSketch in Mathcad Premium to draft a CAD model, pass critical parameters to the Mathcad engine and then update the model with the result of these calculations. Seamlessly.

James Hearne, managing director of Hearne Scientific Software, takes up this theme: "With the last few releases we've watched MathSoft pursue interoperability - with Office applications, with popular CAD software - as a core goal. With Mathcad 2000 Premium they've done it, and this time all the applications you need are included."

The backbone of Mathcad 2000 Premium is MathSoft's patented "live" math technology that enables engineers, scientists and other technical professionals to explore and perform advanced technical calculation using real-math notation. Mathcad extensions add optimisation, quadratic programming and higher capacity problem solving. Interoperability utilises the latest Windows automation technology and as you would expect from MathSoft, the ability to share data and ideas over an office intranet or the wider internet is standard.

PRICING AND AVAILABILITY
Mathcad 2000 Premium is available now for Windows 95, Windows 98 and Windows NT. Suggested retail price is $1,700 for a single user license. Upgrade pricing for current Mathcad and Axum users is available, as well as networked editions and volume licensing at accelerated discounts.
